Process Engineering
Course Description
This three-year, English-taught programme at Politecnico di Milano’s Cremona Campus prepares engineers to analyse and improve industrial processes by integrating:

Physical systems, digital technologies, data, automation, and sustainability.

Mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, and engineering.

Process modelling, simulation, control, data analysis, and industrial operations.

Efficiency, safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
Study Structure

First year: Basic sciences, computing, economics, and industrial systems.

Second year: Thermodynamics, transport phenomena, statistics, software, and automatic control.

Third year: Process simulation, industrial automation, data analysis, materials processing, and operations management.

Final project: Practical process-engineering work, potentially with an industry or research partner.
The programme uses lectures, laboratories, exercises, and projects to develop technical knowledge, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and independent judgement. Graduates can enter technical and operational industrial roles or continue with a master’s degree in process, industrial, or automation engineering.
Eligibility
A five-year or four-year upper-secondary diploma, or an equivalent foreign qualification at EQF Level 4.
Requirements

A valid admission test: TOL, TOLC-I, CEnT-S, or SAT.

Proof of English proficiency through citizenship, English-medium education, or an accepted certificate.
Italian is not required for admission, but B2 Italian proficiency is required before graduation, unless exempt through an eligible TOL/TOLC-I score, citizenship, or Italian-medium education.
Students may also request a transfer from another university, subject to credit evaluation and available places.

Detailed academic records for the last three years of secondary school.

Final secondary-school diploma, or a certificate confirming final-year enrolment.

Proof of English proficiency, unless your secondary education was completed in English.

Valid admission-test result: CEnT-S, SAT, TOL, or TOLC-I.

Official translations into English or Italian if documents are not already issued in an accepted language.

Qualification-recognition document, such as a CIMEA Statement of Comparability, Statement of Verification, or Declaration of Value.
