Architectural Design
Course Description
The Laurea Programme in Architectural Design provides broad training in architecture, covering design, history, technology, construction, representation, urban planning, and sustainability.
Students learn to design at multiple scales, including:

Cities and landscapes.

Buildings and built environments.

Interiors and heritage.
The programme combines multidisciplinary courses, design studios, laboratories, workshops, site visits, and practical projects. It also includes a compulsory internship in professional practice, business, research, or public administration.
Students develop skills in:

Architectural and urban design.

Technical representation and communication.

Structures, construction, and building technology.
-
Social, economic, environmental, and regulatory analysis.

Multidisciplinary teamwork and project evaluation.
The programme is offered in Milan, Piacenza, and Mantova, with fully English-taught tracks in Milan Leonardo and Piacenza. Graduates can continue to a Master of Science in architecture or construction engineering and architecture, or pursue a Level I Specialising Master.
Eligibility
An Italian secondary-school diploma or an equivalent foreign qualification at EQF Level 4
Requirements

A passing score in the required architecture admission test.

A sufficiently high ranking position within the available places.

Good foundational preparation and English proficiency.
Students lacking the required knowledge may receive Additional Educational Obligations (OFA), which can restrict course progression until completed. Preparatory courses, MOOCs, and tutoring are available to strengthen scientific and digital skills.

Final secondary-school diploma, or a certificate confirming final-year enrolment.

Qualification-recognition document, such as a CIMEA Statement of Comparability, Statement of Verification, or Declaration of Value.
