Computer Engineering

The Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering combines theoretical, laboratory, and project-based learning to develop advanced engineering skills in Information Technology, Data Science, Embedded Systems, and Automation Control, while also covering economic and management aspects and their market contexts. All courses are taught entirely in English.

By the end of the program, graduates will be able to identify, analyze, formalize, and solve—often in innovative ways—the main, including complex, problems in computer and automation engineering. This prepares them for a flexible, technology-driven career that stays aligned with ongoing technological progress.

The program has a strongly applied orientation: many courses are project-based, and the thesis work focuses on real business problems similar to those encountered in the workplace. Students can further enrich their experience through Erasmus mobility, either during coursework or while completing their thesis.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering (or a closely related technical field) after at least 3 years of higher education.

• Your academic background should include solid foundations in computer engineering / information engineering topics (programming, algorithms, computer architecture, networks, control/automation, math for engineering, etc.). Candidates with non‑matching curricula may need a curriculum assessment by the faculty commission.

• Demonstrate English proficiency at least at B2 level of the CEFR (via recognized certificate or proof that your previous degree was taught in English)

• Relevance of your Bachelor’s degree to Computer/Information Engineering.

• Transcript quality: courses taken, grades/CGPA, and credits in core areas (math, programming, systems, networks, control, etc.).

• Overall academic performance; many Pavia master’s programs use a reference threshold around 65% aggregate or equivalent for international degrees.

• English level and overall profile (CV, motivation, other relevant experience).

• Bachelor’s degree certificate (or enrolment/expected graduation letter if you haven’t graduated yet).

• Official transcript showing all courses, exams, grades, and credits/hours (with English or Italian translation if needed).

• Copy of passport (bio page).

• Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English (Europass format is commonly accepted).

• Motivation letter / statement of purpose.

• English language certificate (e.g., IELTS ≥ 6.0, TOEFL iBT ≥ 80, or equivalent) unless your degree was taught in English and you can provide proof.

• Passport‑sized photograph (as per portal instructions).
