Course Description
The Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the fundamental principles of Civil and Environmental Engineering. The programme equips students with the scientific, technical, and methodological knowledge required to understand, analyse, and contribute to the design and management of civil engineering works and environmental systems.
Students acquire core competencies in key areas such as structural engineering, hydraulics, geotechnical engineering, transportation systems, and environmental engineering. The programme prepares graduates to contribute to the development and maintenance of buildings, infrastructures (including bridges, roads, and hydraulic works), and engineering systems related to water resources, environmental protection, and land management.
Particular emphasis is placed on developing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a rigorous understanding of engineering principles, materials, and construction techniques. Graduates gain the ability to address the technical aspects of civil engineering projects, including preliminary design, technical assessment, and operational management, under the supervision of senior engineers.
The programme is developed with a dual perspective. On the one hand, it builds upon the well-established tradition of civil engineering education, grounded in solid scientific and technical foundations. On the other hand, it introduces students to contemporary engineering challenges, with particular attention to sustainability, environmental protection, and the resilience of infrastructure systems.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme also provides an excellent preparation for professional careers in engineering, technical consulting, construction companies, and public institutions, as well as for further studies in advanced graduate programmes, including the Master’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering offered by the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio.
Eligibility

Hold a secondary school diploma of at least 5 years, or an equivalent foreign qualification recognized by the competent authorities.

Pass the national CISIA entrance test (in person or online).

If the test shows deficiencies in scientific or linguistic skills, you will be assigned Additional Educational Obligations (OFA) to complete within the first year.

Show English proficiency at B2 level (CEFR) by:

Submitting a recognized B2 certificate, or

Passing an internal English assessment test.
